Tamaryn Green was born on August 19, 1994. Her parents are David and Ellirene Green. She was born in Worcester, Western Cape, South Africa. When Tamaryn was nine, her family moved to Paarl. Her father works as a school adviser. Her mother is a teacher. Tamaryn went to New Orleans Secondary School in Paarl.

She studied medicine at the University of Cape Town. Tamaryn earned her medical degree in 2019. In 2015, she became ill while studying. She recovered fully later that year.

Her Journey to Miss South Africa

In April 2018, Tamaryn Green was chosen as one of 28 people. These people were regional qualifiers for Miss South Africa 2018. She then moved forward to the main competition. She became one of the top twelve contestants.

During the final show, Tamaryn made it to the top five. Then she reached the top two. She was crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2018. The previous winner, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, crowned her. This meant Tamaryn would represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2018. After this, she was also crowned Miss South Africa 2018. Thulisa Keyi became Miss World South Africa.

Throughout my life, I've been exposed to both those who are privileged and underprivileged and what I learned is we are all human. We all want to be loved, we all want to belong, and we all want to be seen so we should treat each other that way.

She meant that everyone, rich or poor, wants to feel loved and included. So, we should treat everyone with kindness. Tamaryn finished as the first runner-up in the competition.

Her Personal Life

Tamaryn Green married a businessman named Ze Nxumalo. Their wedding took place in April 2022. It was held at the Quoin Rock Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
