Tamta Goduadze (born January 10, 1981), known simply as Tamta, is a singer from Georgia who is also a Greek citizen. She became famous in Greece in 2004 after she came in second place on the TV show Super Idol Greece.

Tamta has released many popular songs and albums in Greece and Cyprus. She also became a mentor on X Factor Georgia in 2014, 2015, and 2018. Later, she was a mentor on The X Factor Greece in 2016 and 2017. In 2019, she represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with her song "Replay". She finished in 13th place.

Early Life and Moving to Greece

Tamta was born and grew up in Georgia. She started singing when she was only five years old. When she was 14, she got married and had a daughter named Annie. She finished high school and went to Tbilisi State University while raising her daughter.

After six years, Tamta and her husband divorced. She then moved to Greece with her daughter. Her mother and younger brother had already moved to Greece, where her mother worked as a housekeeper. In Athens, Greece, Tamta helped her mother with housekeeping to earn money. She did not have a special permit to live there at first.

Music Career Beginnings (2003–2006)

In 2003, while working as a housekeeper in Athens, a family she worked for suggested she try out for Super Idol. They thought it might help her get a residence permit. Tamta joined the talent show and made it to the finals. She ended up as the runner-up, coming in second place.

After Super Idol, Tamta signed with the record company Minos EMI. Her first song, "Eisai To Allo Mou Miso," came out in 2004. She also started performing live with famous singers like Antonis Remos. In 2006, Tamta released her first album, also called Tamta. That same year, she won the "Best New Artist" award at the Mad Video Music Awards.

New Albums and Eurovision Dreams (2007–2009)

In January 2007, Tamta took part in the competition to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Her song was "With Love." She came in third place, but the song became very popular in Greece. It reached number two on the Greek singles chart. Her second album, Agapise me, was released in May 2007.

In 2008, Tamta said she wanted to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. There were also talks that the TV company in Cyprus had contacted her. Some people in Greece wanted her to represent Greece instead. However, these plans did not happen, and Sakis Rouvas was chosen for Greece. In early 2009, Tamta released a new song called "Koita me."

New Music and Stage Roles (2010–2013)

In March 2010, Tamta released her third album, "Tharros I Alitheia." She also released a song with the same name featuring Sakis Rouvas. Later that year, she released two more songs, "Egoista" and "Fotia." From 2010 to 2011, Tamta acted in the Greek version of the musical Rent.

She was also a judge and mentor on The X Factor Greece in 2016 and 2017.

In December 2018, it was announced that Tamta would represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Replay." She had been offered to represent Cyprus in 2018 with the song "Fuego," but she couldn't due to other plans. Eleni Foureira sang "Fuego" instead and came in second place, which was Cyprus's best result ever. Both "Replay" and "Fuego" were written by Alex P. Tamta's music video for "Replay" came out on March 5, 2019. At Eurovision, she finished 13th with 109 points.
