Tamta Goduadze (Georgian: თამთა გოდუაძე; IPA: [tamta goduadze]; Greek: Τάμτα Γκοντουάτζε, romanizedTámta Gkontouátze; born 10 January 1981), known simply as Tamta, is a singer from Georgia and Greece. She became famous in Greece in 2004. This happened after she took part in a TV show called Super Idol Greece, where she finished second.

After Super Idol, Tamta released many popular songs and albums in Greece and Cyprus. She also became a mentor on music shows like X Factor Georgia and The X Factor Greece. In 2019, she represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with her song "Replay". She finished in 13th place.

Early Life and Moving to Greece

Tamta Goduadze was born and grew up in Georgia. She started singing when she was only five years old. When she was 14, she got married and had a daughter named Annie. Even while raising her daughter, she finished high school and went to Tbilisi State University.

After six years, Tamta and her husband divorced. She then moved to Greece with her daughter. Tamta's mother and younger brother had already moved to Greece. Her mother worked there as a housekeeper. In Athens, Tamta helped her mother with housekeeping to earn money.

Tamta's Music Journey

Starting with Super Idol (2003–2006)

In 2003, while working in Athens, a family Tamta worked for suggested she try out for Super Idol. This TV show helped her get a chance to start a music career. She became a finalist and ended up as the runner-up.

After the show, Tamta signed with Minos EMI, a Greek record label. Her first song, "Eisai To Allo Mou Miso," came out in 2004. She also started performing live with famous singers like Antonis Remos. In 2006, Tamta released her first album, also called Tamta. That same year, she won the "Best New Artist" award at the Mad Video Music Awards.

New Albums and Eurovision Dreams (2007–2009)

In 2007, Tamta competed to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with her song "With Love". She placed third, but the song became very popular. Her second album, Agapise me, was released in May 2007. She also sang songs for TV shows and advertising campaigns.

In 2008, Tamta said she wanted to represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. There were also talks about her representing Greece. However, these plans did not happen, and another singer was chosen for Greece.

New Music and Stage Shows (2010–2013)

In March 2010, Tamta released her third album, "Tharros I Alitheia." She also released a song with the same name featuring Sakis Rouvas. That year, she appeared in the Greek version of the musical Rent.

She continued to release new songs like "Zise To Apisteuto" and "Tonight" in 2011. She also performed live with other artists. In 2012 and 2013, she released more singles such as "Niose Tin Kardia" and "S' Agapao."

The X Factor and Eurovision (2014–2019)

In 2014, Tamta released "Gennithika Gia Sena." She became a judge and mentor on X Factor Georgia for two seasons. In 2015, she released "Unloved," which was considered for Greece at Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

From 2016 to 2017, Tamta was a judge on The X Factor Greece. In 2017, she released more songs and played the role of Sally Bowles in the Greek musical "Cabaret." She also launched her own clothing collection in 2018.

In December 2018, it was announced that Tamta would represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with "Replay". She had been offered to represent Cyprus in 2018 with the song "Fuego" but couldn't due to her schedule. "Fuego" later became a huge hit for Eleni Foureira. Both "Replay" and "Fuego" were written by the same songwriter, Alex P. Tamta finished 13th at Eurovision 2019.
