Tanah Merah MRT Station facts for kids
Tanah Merah Station (EW4) is an important MRT train station in Bedok, a town in Singapore. It is part of the East West MRT Line, which connects many parts of Singapore.
The station has a unique look with white walls, curved pillars, and a dome-shaped roof. There's also a glass roof in the middle that lets in natural light.
Station Milestones
- 4 November 1989: The station first opened its doors to passengers.
- 10 January 2001: Trains started running from here towards Expo (CG1).
- 22 July 2003: The train service to Changi Airport (CG2) changed to a special shuttle service. This means it only goes back and forth between Tanah Merah and Changi Airport.
- 25 August 2014: It was announced that the station would get two more platforms to handle more trains and passengers.

- Platform A: Trains from here go towards Pasir Ris (EW1).
- Platform B: Trains from here go towards Joo Koon (EW29).
- Platform C: Trains from here go towards Changi Airport (CG2).
- Platform D: Trains from here also go towards Changi Airport (CG2).
