Acting Roles in Movies and TV Shows
Taral Hicks started her acting journey in 1993 with the movie A Bronx Tale. After that, she appeared in other films. These included Just Cause in 1995, where she acted alongside Sean Connery. In 1996, she was in The Preacher's Wife with Whitney Houston.
Later, in 1998, Taral played a role in the movie Belly. She also appeared in a short film called Are You Cinderella? in 2000. In the 2000s, she acted in independent films. Some of these were The Salon (2005) and Forbidden Fruits (2006). She also had roles in Humenetomy (2007) and Ex$pendable (2010).
On television, Taral Hicks was part of the HBO series Subway Stories in 1997. She also made guest appearances in TV shows. These included an episode of 100 Centre Street in 2002 and Soul Food: The Series in 2003.
In 2011, Taral Hicks performed in a musical play by Tyler Perry called Aunt Bam's Place. This play was later released on DVD in 2012.

In 1995, Taral Hicks signed a music deal with Motown Records. She then released her album titled This Time. Her song "Ooh, Ooh Baby", which featured Missy Elliott, appeared on the Billboard R&B music charts.
The first song meant to launch her singing career was "Distant Lover". However, her album became more popular with the release of her second song, "Silly." This song was a new version of a classic R&B hit by Deniece Williams. The music video for "Silly" was directed by Hype Williams. After working on this video, Hype Williams cast Taral in his 1998 movie Belly. The "Silly" music video even appeared in a scene in the film. Taral Hicks has also shared that she is interested in singing gospel music.

Taral Hicks finished Grace Dodge Vocational High School in the Bronx, New York, in 1993. She is the younger sister of another actress and singer, D'atra Hicks. In 1999, Taral started dating Loren Dawson. They got married in 2001.
