Tasha Low, whose full name is Natasha Low Yi Ling, was born on October 11, 1993. She is a talented actress and singer from Singapore. Tasha used to be the leader of a K-pop girl group called Skarf from 2012 to 2014. Today, Tasha lives and works in Singapore. She first appeared in a movie called The Diam Diam Era in 2020.

Tasha Low's Early Life and Family
Tasha Low comes from a family of amazing ballroom dancers. Her great-grandfather, Low Poh San, was the first to bring ballroom dancing to Singapore. He even became the Singapore Professional Ballroom Champion many times!
Tasha's grandfather, Sunny Low, was also a very famous dancer in Singapore during the 1970s and 1980s. Her parents, Alvyn Low and Lucy Wang, were also great ballroom dancers. Tasha's brother also trained to be a professional ballroom dancer.
After finishing school at Fuhua Secondary School, Tasha went with a friend to an audition in 2010. This audition was held by Alpha Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. Tasha was one of only four Singaporeans chosen! The next year, she moved to South Korea to start her training. Tasha can speak English, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean very well.
Tasha Low's Career Journey
Starting in K-pop: Skarf and Solo Work (2012–2017)
Tasha trained very hard for two years in South Korea. In 2012, she debuted with a girl group called Skarf. This group had members from both Singapore and South Korea. Tasha was the leader, dancer, rapper, and singer for the group. She and another member, Ferlyn Wong, were the two Singaporean members. Ferlyn left the group in 2014.
Skarf released their first mini-album, Oh! Dance, and performed their song on a TV show called Music Bank in August 2012. They also had their first big show in Seoul that same month.
In 2012, Tasha became a model for a smartphone brand called Pantech Vega R3. In 2013, she became a host for a music show called Pops in Seoul on Arirang TV. She also appeared on MBC's Gangnam Feel Dance. In 2014, Tasha joined a dance show called Dancing 9.
After Skarf broke up in 2014, Tasha was expected to join a new group. In 2016, Tasha and other trainees appeared on a Chinese TV show called Lady Bees. In 2017, Tasha joined a TV show called Idol School. On this show, 40 contestants competed to join a new 9-member girl group. Tasha was known for her dancing and leadership skills. She finished in 23rd place and did not make it into the final group.
On December 31, 2017, Tasha announced on her Instagram that she would start her solo career. She planned to use the name Yu I Yeong for her future activities.
Returning to Singapore and Becoming an Actress (2018–Present)
In January 2018, Tasha stopped all her activities in Korea and moved back to Singapore.
In 2019, Tasha got her first main acting role in a web series called Cheerific. She also acted in the TV show Titoudao, which started in February 2020. This show was later dubbed in Chinese and shown on another channel.
Tasha made her first movie appearance in The Diam Diam Era in 2020. She also appeared in its sequel, The Diam Diam Era Two, in 2021. She played important roles in Chinese TV shows like Mind Jumper and Live Your Dreams in 2021.
On April 9, 2023, Tasha won her first Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award at the Star Awards. She won this award again in 2024.
On January 30, 2024, it was announced that Tasha would be a main actress in a new drama called Emerald Hill - The Little Nyonya Story. This show is a sequel to a popular 2008 drama. In this series, Tasha plays Zhang Xinniang, a young woman who was once a street beggar but is adopted into a rich family. She acts alongside Ferlyn Wong, her former bandmate from Skarf, and Chantalle Ng.
