Ferlyn Gilleen Wong Jing Ling (born February 1, 1992), also known as Ferlyn G, is a talented Singaporean singer, dancer, and actress. She was part of a South Korean girl group called Skarf from 2012 to 2014. Today, she lives and works in Singapore.
Ferlyn grew up in Singapore. She speaks English and Mandarin very well. After living in South Korea for two years to get ready for her music debut, she also learned Korean. Her first music collection, an EP called First, came out on January 2, 2015. Later in 2015, Ferlyn decided to start her own music company, GIF Music.
She also started acting in movies. Her first big movie role was in When Ghost Meets Zombie in 2019.

Becoming a Star
Early Life and Training
Ferlyn Wong was born on February 1, 1992. She is the younger child in her family. Before she became famous, Ferlyn trained at a music company called Ocean Butterflies International. There, she was a backup dancer for popular singers like JJ Lin, Rainie Yang, and Wang Lee Hom.
Ferlyn was also studying business at Temasek Polytechnic. But she left her studies when she got a chance to audition for a music company. She then moved to South Korea to train and get ready to join a girl group.
Starting with Skarf
Ferlyn passed an audition held by JYP & Alpha Entertainment. This led her to join Skarf, a four-member girl group. Another member, Tasha, was also from Singapore. The other two members were from Korea.
Skarf officially started their music journey on August 13, 2012, with a song called Oh! Dance. They performed this song on a famous TV show called Music Bank in Korea. Ferlyn and the other Skarf members also made a quick appearance in a Singaporean TV show called It Takes Two.
Skarf released another song, "Luv Virus", on May 28, 2013. Its music video was put online a few days later.
Going Solo and New Music
On September 16, 2014, it was announced that Ferlyn would be leaving Skarf. She planned to release her own music as a solo artist in 2015.
Her first solo EP, First, came out on January 2, 2015. This EP had two songs in Mandarin and one in Korean. The Korean song, Luv Talk, featured Mint from another group called Tiny-G. Ferlyn held a special event in Singapore to celebrate her album release. She also planned to promote her music in other countries like Korea, China, and Malaysia.
In 2015, Ferlyn left Alpha Entertainment. She then helped start her own music company, GIF Music. On November 17, 2015, she released a new song she wrote herself. It was a hip-hop song in English called "Gif To You".
First Main Acting Roles
In 2018, Ferlyn got her first main role in a movie! It was a funny horror film called When Ghost Meets Zombie. She acted alongside singer Nathan Hartono. The movie came out on February 14, 2019. Ferlyn also sang two songs for the movie's soundtrack: "等" and "匆匆".
