Changes in Community Status
Tazlina first appeared on the U.S. Census in 1980 as a census-designated place (CDP). Later, in 1990, it was called an "Alaskan Native Village Statistical Area" (ANVSA). This is a special area for Native Alaskan communities.
By 2000, Tazlina became a CDP again. In 2010, another nearby CDP called Copperville joined with Tazlina.
