Te Puru is a small place located on the western side of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. A main road, State Highway 25, goes right through it. To the north, you'll find Tapu, about 7 kilometers away. The town of Thames is about 12 kilometers to the south.
The Te Puru Stream flows through the area. It has about 18 smaller streams joining it. These streams drain a large, hilly area of 23 square kilometers. This area is part of the Coromandel Range and is mostly covered by native forest. The stream eventually flows into the Firth of Thames to the west. Sometimes, heavy rain can cause flooding in Te Puru.
There's also a walking path called Te Puru track. It connects Te Puru with the Tapu-Coroglen road. Along the way, it crosses other popular tramping (hiking) tracks.
