Teal Inlet (also known as Spanish: Caleta Trullo) is a small community located on East Falkland. It was once called Evelyn Station. This settlement is found on the southern coast of Salvador Water in the Falkland Islands. It sits near a notable hill known as Jack's Mountain.

Teal Inlet's Role in the Falklands War

Teal Inlet played a small but important part during the Falklands War in 1982. This conflict was between Argentina and the United Kingdom over control of the Falkland Islands.

British Troops and Their Journey

During the war, British soldiers landed at San Carlos Water. From there, they split into two main groups. One group moved south to fight in the Battle of Goose Green. The other group traveled along the northern part of East Falkland. Their path led them right past Teal Inlet.

A Safe Harbor for Ships

Teal Inlet became a safe place for British ships during the final push towards Port Stanley, the capital. Ships from the 11th MCM Squadron (which means Mine Countermeasures Squadron) used Teal Inlet as a "harbor of refuge." This allowed them to hide and protect themselves from air attacks during the day. It was a crucial spot for these ships to rest and prepare for their next moves in the war.
