Tehkummah is a small township in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is located on Manitoulin Island, which is a large island in Lake Huron.

Exploring Tehkummah's Communities
Tehkummah is home to a few interesting communities. The most well-known is South Baymouth. This community is famous for being the northern stop for the MS Chi-Cheemaun ferry.
South Baymouth: A Ferry Hub
The MS Chi-Cheemaun is a large ferry that carries both people and cars. It travels across the Main Channel of Georgian Bay. The ferry connects South Baymouth to Tobermory, which is on the Bruce Peninsula.
When the ferry arrives in South Baymouth, Highway 6 begins again. This highway goes north from the ferry dock. It continues all the way to Highway 17, which is north of Espanola.
Tehkummah: The Main Centre
The main office for the township is in the community of Tehkummah. This is where the local government handles its business.
Ghost Towns: Michael's Bay and Snowville
The township also includes two places that are now "ghost towns." These are Michael's Bay and Snowville. A ghost town is a place where most or all people have left.
