The Telmatobufo bullocki, also known as Bullock's Chile Frog, is a special type of frog. It belongs to the frog family called Calyptocephalellidae. This frog is found only in one country, Chile. It lives in a specific area called the Cordillera de Nahuelbuta, which is part of the Chilean Coast Range.
This frog is very rare. Scientists looked for it for many years (from 1992 to 2002) but found only one adult frog! It likes to live in fast-moving streams inside cool, temperate forests. These forests are filled with a type of tree called Nothofagus.

The Telmatobufo bullocki is a unique amphibian. It spends part of its life in water and part on land. Like all frogs, it starts as a tadpole and then changes into an adult frog. This frog is special because it is found nowhere else in the world except for a small part of Chile.
Where Does This Frog Live?
This rare frog lives in the mountains of Chile. Specifically, it is found in the Cordillera de Nahuelbuta. This mountain range is known for its beautiful forests and clear streams. The frog needs these fast-flowing streams to live and grow.
Life in the Stream

Siltation happens when dirt, mud, and small rocks (called silt) get washed into the streams. This makes the water cloudy and can fill up the places where the frogs live and lay their eggs. It also covers the rocks where the tadpoles find their food.
How Does Clear-Cutting Affect Frogs?
A big reason for siltation is "clear-cutting." This is when all the trees in an area are cut down. Trees help hold the soil in place. When they are gone, rain can easily wash the soil into the streams. This harms the frog's home.

Even though this frog is in danger, there is hope. The Telmatobufo bullocki lives inside a protected area called the Nahuelbuta National Park. National parks are special places where nature is kept safe from harm. This park helps protect the forests and streams that the frog needs to survive.
