Temi plays for the Golden State Valkyries in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She also plays for Beşiktaş in Turkey's top basketball league. Temi was part of the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Temi Fagbenle was born on September 8, 1992, in Baltimore, Maryland. Her family is from Nigeria. She has eleven brothers and sisters. Some of her siblings are famous too! Her brother O. T. Fagbenle is an actor. Her brother Luti Fagbenle is a film producer. And Oladapo 'Daps' Fagbenle is a video producer.
When Temi was two years old, her family moved to London, United Kingdom. She started playing basketball at the Haringey Angels club. At age fifteen, she moved back to the United States. She went to Blair Academy in New Jersey for high school. Later, she attended Harvard University. For her last year of college basketball, she transferred to the University of Southern California. In 2012, she was about 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed around 175 pounds.
High School Basketball Career
While at Blair Academy, Temi was a top high school player. She was chosen for the McDonald's All-American High School team. This team features the best high school basketball players in the country.
Professional Basketball Journey
Temi Fagbenle has had a very successful professional career. She has won many national championships. These wins happened in Spain, Italy, and Great Britain. She also won the EuroCup in 2024 with the London Lions team.
Playing in the WNBA
Minnesota Lynx (2017–2019)
Temi started her WNBA career in 2017. She joined the Minnesota Lynx team. In her first year, she helped the Lynx win the WNBA championship! This was a huge achievement for a rookie player.
Indiana Fever (2024)
In January 2024, Temi signed with the Indiana Fever. She made the team's final roster. She played in the first eight games of the season. She was playing well, averaging over 9 points and 5 rebounds per game. However, she got a foot injury and had to stop playing for a while.
Golden State Valkyries (2025–Present)
On December 6, 2024, Temi was chosen by the Golden State Valkyries. This new team picked her in the WNBA's expansion draft. She will join them for the 2025 season.
International Basketball Career
Temi has played for Great Britain at different levels. She played for the under-16, under-18, and under-20 teams. She also competed in the 2011 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.
London 2012 Olympics
Temi was selected for the British team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. This was a big step up for her. She was moved directly from the under-20 team to the senior Olympic team. During the Olympics, she averaged about 4.8 points and 4 rebounds per game. The Great Britain team did not win any games and did not move past their group.
Her selection for the Olympics came after a difficult time. She could not play for her college team, the Harvard Crimson women's basketball team. This was because of a rule from the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). NCAA rules say athletes must start college within two years of taking a certain exam. Temi had repeated a year of high school after moving to the U.S. This meant she took an extra year to graduate. Because of this, the NCAA said she could not play for Harvard for a period.
