Terrance Michael Drew (born on November 22, 1976) is a doctor and a politician from Saint Kitts and Nevis. He is currently the fourth prime minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, a role he has held since August 2022. Dr. Drew also leads the Labour Party since 2021. He works to guide his country and improve the lives of its citizens.

Who is Terrance Drew?
His Early Life and Education
Terrance Drew was born in 1976. His parents are Ras Gerzel Pet Mills and Michael ‘Mic Stokes’ Heyliger. He finished his studies at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College in 1996. When he was 19, he worked as a part-time teacher at Basseterre High School.
In 1998, he traveled to Cuba to study medicine. He graduated from the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Villa Clara. After finishing his medical degree, Dr. Drew returned to Saint Kitts. There, he worked as a general practitioner, which means he was a doctor for many different kinds of health issues.
Later, in 2010, he went to El Paso, Texas in the United States. He completed special training called a residency in internal medicine. This training helps doctors become experts in treating adult diseases. He finished this program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2013. In 2016, Dr. Drew received a special certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine. This showed he was highly skilled in his medical field.
His Path to Political Leadership
Dr. Drew first tried to become a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party in 2015. He ran again in 2020 but did not win either time. However, he kept working hard in politics.
On November 28, 2021, Dr. Drew was chosen as the new leader of the Labour Party. This happened during a special meeting where party members voted. He received 45% of the votes.
In August 2022, a new general election was held. Dr. Drew was elected as a Member of Parliament for his area. He led the Labour Party to win a majority of seats in the parliament. This meant his party had enough power to form the government.
Serving as Prime Minister
On August 15, 2022, Dr. Terrance Drew officially became the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis. As Prime Minister, he leads the country's government. He also holds several important jobs, or "portfolios." These include being the Minister of Finance, which means he manages the country's money. He is also in charge of national security, citizenship, immigration, health, and social security.
Dr. Drew is also a member of the Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. This council helps make important decisions about money for several Caribbean countries.
In November 2022, Dr. Drew spoke at a conference about digital money. He mentioned that Bitcoin Cash, a type of digital currency, could become official money in the country. This discussion was about how new technologies might be used in the economy.
In 2023, after King Charles III was crowned, Dr. Drew said his government would ask citizens for their opinions. They wanted to know if the country should continue to have a king or queen, or if it should become a republic with a president. This is a big decision for the future of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
As of January 1, 2026, Dr. Drew is also serving as the Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). This is an important role where he helps lead cooperation among many Caribbean nations.
