Early Life and Club Success

Teruo Nimura was born in Kyoto, Japan. After finishing his studies at Waseda University, he joined a football club called Toyo Industries in 1966. This club became very successful during his time there.

Toyo Industries won the Japan Soccer League championship four times. They were champions in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1970. They also won the Emperor's Cup twice, in 1967 and 1969. This period was the best in the club's history. Nimura played 151 games for the club and scored 16 goals. He stopped playing football in 1976.

Playing for Japan

In December 1970, Teruo Nimura was chosen to play for the Japan national football team. His first game for Japan was on December 10, 1970, against Malaysia at the 1970 Asian Games. He played a total of 5 games for Japan in 1970.

Becoming a Coach

After he stopped playing, Nimura became a football coach. In 1981, he became the manager for Mazda, which was the new name for his old club, Toyo Industries. He took over from another famous coach, Aritatsu Ogi.

However, in the 1983 season, the Mazda team finished last in the league. This meant they were moved down to Division 2, which was the first time this had happened to the club. Nimura then left his coaching role at the end of the 1983 season.
