Teulada is a charming town in the beautiful region of Sardinia, Italy. It's located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) southwest of Cagliari, a bigger city. Teulada is known for its lovely landscapes and interesting history.
A comune is like a municipality or a local government area in Italy. Teulada is one such comune in the Province of South Sardinia.
Ancient History of Teulada
One part of Teulada, called Sant'Isidoro, might be where an ancient Roman city once stood. This old city was known as Bithia, or sometimes Biotha or Biora. It shows that people have lived in this area for a very long time.
Teulada is also remembered for a naval battle that happened nearby during World War II. This battle was called the Battle of Cape Spartivento. It took place on November 27, 1940.
During this battle, a British ship called HMS Newcastle and three other British cruisers fought against ships from the Italian navy. It was a short but important fight at sea.
Twin Towns
Teulada has a special connection with another town across the sea. This is called a "twin town" or "sister city" relationship. It helps towns learn about each other's cultures.
