About The Edge Chronicles
The World of The Edge
The stories of The Edge Chronicles happen in a special make-believe world. This world is called The Edge. Imagine a giant cliff that seems to go on forever, with no bottom in sight!
The books cover a very long time, about 600 years. This time is split into three "Ages of Flight." Flying is a super important part of these stories. Each age is known by how people fly.
- In the first age, people used floating rocks to fly.
- Then, a "stone sickness" made the rocks crumble.
- After that, people started using special floating wood.
- Finally, they discovered "phrax-power" for flight.
The series is also famous for its amazing plants and animals. It also has cool maps of different places in The Edge.
How the Books Were Released
The first three groups of books came out between 1998 and 2006. A special standalone book was released in 2009. This book finished the first two "Ages of Flight" and started the third.
The authors first planned to end the series after the tenth book. But they decided to write more! They started a fourth group of three books. These new stories were based on adventures they had shared online. The first two books of this new group came out in 2014 and 2015. The series also has short stories and a companion book.
