The Story of the Hunt

Dan's Disappearance

The story begins after Dan and Amy Cahill return to their hotel. They have an argument, and Dan runs away. He is then taken by Ian and Natalie Kabra. They leave him at Jonah Wizard's lollipop factory. Jonah treats Dan very well, giving him a fancy room and taking him to a concert. He even lets Dan fly first class.

Amy and Nellie's Search

Meanwhile, Amy Cahill and Nellie are looking for Dan. They go to Alistair for help. Alistair reads a Chinese newspaper. It says that Jonah is going to the Great Wall of China. But Jonah changes his plans. He knows Amy and Nellie are going there. Instead, he goes to a place called Wushu City. Dan starts taking Wushu lessons there.

Clues and Discoveries

Later, Dan explores a tunnel. He finds old lab equipment that belonged to Gideon Cahill. He also finds a picture of Madeleine Cahill. This picture once belonged to a famous pirate named Anne Bonny. The Wizards then get a secret message. It gives them directions to a special spot. This spot is where the Terra Cotta Warriors are found.

The Great Wall and Mount Everest

Amy and Nellie continue their search for Dan at the Great Wall. They find a secret door. Nellie opens the lock, and they enter a hidden room. Amy uses her Feng Shui skills to arrange things. A light then shines in, pointing towards Mount Everest.

While Amy and Nellie are at the Great Wall, Jonah and Dan check out the Terra Cotta Warriors. Jonah sends Dan in alone, just in case it's a trap. It turns out to be a trap, and they both end up in jail. Jonah's dad helps them get out. Jonah then decides to quit the hunt for the clues. His mother, Cora Wizard, is very upset. She tells Dan that their family branch is Janus. Dan then tells them he is a Madrigal. He leaves the Wizards, who are very surprised. After leaving, Dan sees the Holts climbing Mount Everest on TV.

The Final Clue

Grace, a wise family member, had hidden a special helicopter, called the A-Star, in rural China. She told Amy and Dan about it, knowing they would need it. Dan remembers where it is and travels to it. When Amy and Nellie get the A-Star ready, Dan meets them.

Dan and Amy fly the A-Star up to Mount Everest. They find a special serum hidden in the mountain. But they lose it when Ian falls off a cliff. Amy saves Ian, but the serum falls far below. Amy realizes they already have another form of the clue: a piece of silk. She explains that the serum was just liquid silk.

After Amy finds a message that says it was Anne Bonny's, they decide to go to the Caribbean. They hope to find the next clue that Anne Bonny might have left there.
