The Fairies is an Australian live-action children's television series created by Jenifer Watts. The show is all about two friendly fairies: Harmony and Rainbow Rhapsody. In the later TV series (2005-2009), Rainbow Rhapsody was known simply as Rhapsody.

Harmony and Rhapsody have many fun friends! These include Elf, who is the Fairy Cake Maker, Barnaby the Bizzy Buzzy Bee, and Wizzy the Wizard. Every episode of the TV series was filled with catchy songs and exciting dance routines.

The show first started as a series of direct-to-video films. These were released by PolyGram Filmed Entertainment Australia in 1998. Some of the first videos were The Fairies and A Fairy Merry Christmas. Later, the videos were released by Carlton Home Entertainment UK and ABC Video. It then became a popular TV series that aired from 2005 to 2009. ABC for Kids also released many DVDs of the show. You could find lots of merchandise (like toys!) in Australia and America. The characters even went on live tours!
