What is The House of Daemon About?
This comic strip tells a scary adventure story. It follows an architect named Elliot Aldrich. He built a perfect dream house for his wife, Cassandra. Even though the house was built on a lonely rock, it became controlled by an "evil presence" called Daemon (pronounced "dee-mon").
How Daemon Trapped Them
After some strange events, Daemon managed to trap the Aldrich family inside the house. He also trapped the builders, police, and even paranormal investigators. Daemon created scary, dream-like worlds inside each part of the house. These worlds were so real, they felt like nightmares.
Daemon's Strange Powers
Daemon's powers were only limited by his wild imagination. For example, the kitchen turned into a huge jungle. It took several days for the trapped people to cross it. This part of the story was like a futuristic version of the Vietnam War. This idea of "virtual torture" was also used in another comic called The Thirteenth Floor. Both comics had the same creative team.
Cassandra's Special Abilities
As the story went on, it was discovered that Cassandra had psychic powers. These powers helped the group fight Daemon. For instance, she could guide them through the house even when it looked completely different.
The Wizards and Daemon's Secret
Cassandra also found three "wizards" hiding in a peaceful place inside the house's lounge. These wizards shared a big secret. They explained that they and Daemon were from the 26th century. In their time, humans had mastered psychic powers. However, they had not gotten rid of evil.
Daemon was a very powerful "child of darkness." He was imprisoned inside the very house that Elliot Aldrich had built. The three wizards had combined their powers to keep him locked away. But Daemon was so strong that he could reach over 500 years into the past. He used this power to torture the people who were on the site of his future prison. The wizards could only follow him, but they could not stop him.
The Final Battle and Escape
Eventually, the group found Daemon in the house's attic. It turned out that the people who seemed to have died in the house were actually still alive. Daemon's powers could change reality, and he planned to torture them forever. Cassandra managed to temporarily defeat Daemon's physical form using poison. This allowed the group to escape.
Elliot Aldrich and his building company then built high brick walls around the house. They hoped this would keep Daemon trapped inside until his imprisonment in the 26th century finally happened.
