The Open Door Tour was the second big world tour for the American rock band Evanescence. This tour helped share their second album, The Open Door, with fans around the globe. It started on October 5, 2006, in Toronto, Canada, and lasted for more than a year. During this time, Evanescence played at many famous music events, like the Download and PinkPop festivals. Their shows included songs from both The Open Door and their first album, Fallen.

About the Tour Journey

The band's lead singer, Amy Lee, shared her excitement about returning to tour. She said it had been two years since their last tour, and they were eager to play new songs. After all the hard work of writing and recording, they were ready to perform for their fans again.

First Part of the Tour

The first part of the tour began in October 2006. Evanescence visited places across North America. In November, they traveled to Europe for several concerts. They returned to the U.S. in December to play in larger concert halls. This part of the tour continued into January 2007, with shows in Canada, then moving on to Japan and Australia.

Second Part of the Tour

The second part of the tour kicked off on March 16, 2007, in Fresno, California. This leg took the band through the U.S., South America, South Africa, and Europe. They finished their European shows with a sold-out concert in Ra'anana, Israel, on June 26, 2007. During this time, there were some changes in the band. Guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Grey left Evanescence. They were replaced by Troy McLawhorn and Will Hunt from the band Dark New Day.

Final Shows and Collaborations

Evanescence later joined another tour called The Family Values Tour. They shared the stage with the band Korn from July 27 to September 2, 2007. After that, Evanescence started their Winter tour on October 23. They played concerts in the U.S. and Mexico. The entire Open Door tour wrapped up on December 8, 2007, in Kingston, Rhode Island. Troy McLawhorn and Will Hunt, who joined the band during the second leg, continued to play with Evanescence until the end of The Open Door Tour.
