The Story of The Other Me
Will Browning's School Troubles
Will Browning is a student who isn't doing very well in school. His dad tells him that if his grades don't get better soon, he'll have to spend the summer at Camp Spartacus. This camp is like a boot camp for boys. It's supposed to teach them to be more responsible and disciplined. To try and fix his grades, Will decides to order a science project kit. He gets it from a company called "Ocean Pups."
Accidental Cloning
Meanwhile, two scientists named Victor and Conrad work at "Ocean Pups." They dream of working in a "real" science lab. They make an amazing discovery: a new way to clone things, which they call "hyper-cloning." But when they leave their lab, a cloned lab mouse escapes! Their cat chases it, and the mouse knocks over the special cloning liquid. This liquid drips through a crack in the floor and onto one of the "Ocean Pups" kits. When Victor and Conrad find out Will ordered that kit, they decide to spy on his house. They want to get the possible clone back for their experiments.
While Will is working with his kit, he accidentally clones himself! He stirs the water with his comb, which has his hair and DNA on it. Suddenly, a clone appears. This clone starts reading Will's science book and learns incredibly fast. Will decides to send the clone, who he names Twoie, to school in his place. Will secretly stays home. But Twoie doesn't act exactly like Will when he goes to school.
Twoie's Impact on Will's Life
Twoie starts getting much better grades. It's not just because he's super smart. It's also because Twoie isn't afraid to try new things. He even becomes friends with Scotty DeSota, who used to be Will's rival.
Later, Will's family visits his grandfather, Mordechai. Grandpa Mordechai usually doesn't talk to anyone. But Twoie asks him if being old hurts. Mordechai simply says, "Not today." They end up talking and catching up for a long time.
When Twoie tells Will about school and his talk with Grandpa Mordechai, Will starts to miss school and his friends. One day, Will feels so jealous of Twoie that he decides to go to school himself. When he gets there, he sees how popular he has become. Other students, including the cheerleaders, greet him. DeSota even invites him to a baseball game. When his "girlfriend" asks him to the dance, Will nervously agrees.
The Scientists' Plan and Twoie's Danger
Victor and Conrad keep watching Will's house. They soon figure out that Will cloned himself. They mistakenly think that Twoie, who is going to the dance, is the real Will Browning. The real Will spies on the scientists. He discovers that Twoie only has a few hours left before he turns into "Ocean Pup eggs." Clones in this story only have a four-week lifespan! Will grabs a special mixture that can save Twoie. But Victor and Conrad spot Will and think he is Twoie.
During the dance, Twoie goes to the bathroom. He had promised to show his friends a new dance move. He tells himself it's time to leave. When Will arrives, his best friend, Chuckie, asks how he changed his clothes so fast. Will explains that he cloned himself. Chuckie doesn't believe him. Suddenly, Victor and Conrad kidnap Will. They take him to a warehouse, still thinking he's the clone.
The Rescue and a New Family Member
Twoie arrives and rescues Will. He knew where Will was because they share a special telepathic connection. Twoie helps Will keep the scientists from getting away. Chuckie and Scotty show up to help Twoie and Will. Twoie had alerted them. They also called the police, who arrive soon after with Will's parents.
Twoie is starting to fade, but Will quickly gives him the mixture he took from the scientists. This mixture gives Twoie a normal lifespan! Will explains everything to his family. The scientists are arrested. The police are suspicious, but Will quickly makes up a story. He says Twoie is his identical cousin, Gil Pupman, from Belgium. Everyone, except the scientists, supports his story, even though they are shocked. The only ones who know the real truth are Will, his family, Twoie, Chuckie, Scotty, Will's grandfather, Victor, and Conrad. Will renames Twoie "Gil," and the family adopts him.
