Danny Williams is the Managing Director, who handles the business side of the theater.

Fun Programs and Plays

The Rep has special programs for different audiences.

History of The Rep

The St. Louis Repertory Theater started in 1966. It found its home at Webster University's Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts.

  • The very first plays performed at The Rep were two shows by Peter Shaffer. They were called "The Private Ear" and "The Public Eye."
  • In 1970, The Rep took a break from putting on plays for a year. They used this time to plan and improve their finances. They started performing again in 1971.
  • In 1986, Steven Woolf officially became the Artistic Director. He led the theater for over 30 years. Mark Bernstein joined as the Managing Director at the same time.
  • Steven Woolf announced his retirement in 2017. Hana S. Sharif took over as the Artistic Director in 2019.
  • In 2021, Mark Bernstein retired as Managing Director. Danny Williams then took on that role.
