The Sapphires: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a special music album. It was made for the movie The Sapphires, which came out in 2012. This album was released on July 27, 2012, by Sony Music Australia.
The soundtrack features amazing singers like Jessica Mauboy, Jade MacRae, Lou Bennett, Juanita Tippens, and Darren Percival. Jessica Mauboy sings on ten of the sixteen songs! Bry Jones produced this album. It includes many popular songs from the 1960s, such as "Land of a Thousand Dances", "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)", "I Heard It Through the Grapevine", and "What a Man".
One special song on the album is "Ngarra Burra Ferra". This song is based on an old Aboriginal hymn called "Bura Fera". It is sung in the Yorta Yorta language. This language is spoken by the Yorta Yorta people who live in Victoria, Australia, near the Goulburn Valley and Murray River.
