The Shapies is a fun computer-animated TV show from Australia. It's all about a group of cool characters who are also geometric shapes! The show first aired on July 6, 2002, in Australia on the Nine Network and in the United States on PBS Kids. Light Knights Productions made the series, which had 26 episodes and ended on December 30, 2002.

About The Shapies Show
The show is about a rock band called The Shapies. This band is made up of ten different geometric shapes. They dream of being the best band in the world!
How The Shapies Appear
The Shapies come to life from a toy box. They appear in the bedroom of a young boy named Zack.
Music in The Show
Each character in the show has their own special song. These songs are sung by Robert and Meika Robertson. They were recorded at Island View Recording Studio in Coffs Harbour. Each song is over two minutes long.
Episode Length
Episodes in both Season 1 and Season 2 were 22 to 24 minutes long. They aired without any commercials during the show.
Where to Watch
The episodes from Season 2 were released on iTunes. This happened in early January 2015.
Meet The Shapies Characters
The show features a group of unique and fun characters. Here are the main ones:
- Bob Oblong
The self-proclaimed leader of the band. He is also known as "The King of Cool." Paul is his best friend. Bob is scared of ghosts, as seen in the episode "Boo!". Voiced by Tony Bellette.
- Paul the Ball
He is the silly clown of the band. Paul laughs a lot and has tons of energy. Bob is his best friend. He gets to "fly" in the episode "Full of Hot Air." Voiced by Jane U'Brien.
- Tammy Triangle
Tammy is the athletic member of the band. She often argues with Sally. Tammy won a computer game in the episode "Virtual Shapies." She was found in the episode "Another World." Voiced by Jane U'Brien.
- Rex the Rectangle
Rex is the band's pet. He is a carefree dog who plays the drums. Voiced by Jane U'Brien.
- Sarah Circle
She is the second smartest in the group. Sarah thinks of others and is very brave. This is shown in the episode "Wet World." Voiced by Joey Moore.
- Sally Cylinder
Sally is the vain one in the band. She only thinks about her looks. Sally often argues with Tammy, but they fixed their friendship in "Mirror Mirror." Voiced by Joey Moore.
- Sammy Square
Sammy is the smartest of the band. He is great at coming up with ideas. Sammy was found in the episode "Talent Quest." He saved the bedroom from goo in "The Day The Goo Came!". Voiced by Jane U'Brien.
- Starry Star
Starry is the sweet one of the band. She is shy but can overcome her fears. She was found in "The Amazing Maze." Starry overcame her fear of heights in "Hanging Around." Voiced by Jane U'Brien.
- Perry Pyramid
Perry is the relaxed member of the band. He is a gentle giant and the last Shapie to be found. He was found in "X Marks The Spot." Perry has his first idea in "Mr. Boo to the Rescue." Voiced by Tony Bellette.
- Connie Cone
Connie is the youngest member of the band. She is quieter than the others. Connie was found in "Circus Day." She became friends with Urkel in "The Little Green Men." Voiced by Joey Moore.
Other Important Characters
- Mirror Man
He is not a Shapie. Mirror Man appears on the door after Zack leaves. He guides The Shapies on their adventures. Voiced by Tony Bellette.
- Mr. Boo
Mr. Boo is also not a Shapie. He appears in Season 2 as the main villain. He is a toy belonging to Zack's cousin, Chad. Mr. Boo wants to get rid of The Shapies so he can have the bedroom to himself. As the season goes on, he becomes more friendly. In the finale, "Mr. Boo to the Rescue," he helps The Shapies. Chad gives Mr. Boo to Zack, and Mr. Boo becomes friends with The Shapies. Voiced by Tony Bellette.
- Major Mobile
He is an old toy in the room. Major Mobile first appears in "Hanging Around." He thinks the Shapies are his new crew. In "The Little Green Men," he believes Urkel the alien is evil. Voiced by Tony Bellette.
- Zack
Zack is the owner of The Shapies. He later becomes the owner of Mr. Boo. He is a kind boy who enjoys spending time with his cousin, Chad. Voiced by Declan Steele (George Blackley in Season 1).
- Chad
Chad is Zack's cousin. He was the previous owner of Mr. Boo. Chad only appears in Season 2. At first, he doesn't think highly of Zack. But as the season continues, they become good friends. At the end of Season 2, Chad gives Mr. Boo to Zack. Voiced by Bonnie Fraser.
