Famous Comedians on Stage
Many famous comedians have performed at The Stress Factory clubs. Sometimes, unexpected things happen during these shows.
Greg Giraldo's Last Performance
On September 24, 2010, comedian Greg Giraldo performed his last stand-up show at the New Brunswick club. He was scheduled to perform more shows that weekend. There are many videos of past shows from The Stress Factory on YouTube. However, videos of Greg Giraldo's earlier shows were removed from the club's collection. On October 3, 2010, a website called TMZ shared a video of his final performance at the club.
Pete Davidson's Show Interruption
On April 29, 2019, comedian Pete Davidson from Saturday Night Live was supposed to perform at the Bridgeport club. However, he left before his show started. Davidson said the owner, Vinnie Brand, was "disrespectful" by talking about Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale on stage before Davidson's performance. Brand said he was just following instructions from Davidson's security team. He said he was telling the audience not to shout out those names during the show.
Technical Issues with Eddie Griffin
On August 30, 2019, comedian Eddie Griffin was set to perform at the New Brunswick club. When Griffin went on stage, the club's power system had a problem. This caused the lights and microphones to stop working during his show. Griffin was upset about the technical problems. He cancelled his performances for the next night, August 31, 2019. The club owner, Vinnie Brand, said the power issue would be fixed. Another comedian, Drew Fraser, performed instead on Saturday. People who bought tickets for Griffin's shows received their money back.
