The Zeta Project is an American science fiction animated TV show from Warner Bros. Animation. It first came out on Kids' WB in January 2001. This show is a spin-off, meaning it came from another show, Batman Beyond. It focuses on a robot character named Zeta, who first appeared in an episode of Batman Beyond. It's also part of the DC Animated Universe, which includes many popular superhero cartoons.
The main character is a robot called Infiltration Unit Zeta. He was made to secretly find and stop certain people for a group called the National Security Agency (NSA). But one day, Zeta found out that a person he was supposed to stop was actually innocent. This made him think deeply about what is right and wrong, and he decided he couldn't hurt anyone anymore. Zeta then left his mission and went on the run.
Now, Zeta is being chased by a team of NSA agents, led by Agent Bennett, who is determined to catch him. Luckily, Zeta gets help from a 15-year-old girl named Rosalie "Ro" Rowan, who is also a runaway. The show follows their adventures as they try to stay ahead of the NSA. The series ended after two seasons.

What the Show is About
The Zeta Project tells the story of Zeta and Ro. They are trying to prove that Zeta is truly peaceful and doesn't want to hurt anyone. The NSA agents chasing them, however, believe that bad guys have reprogrammed Zeta for a secret plan. To show he's innocent, Zeta and Ro search for his creator, a hard-to-find scientist named Dr. Selig.
Meet the Characters
- Infiltration Unit Zeta (Diedrich Bader), also called "Zee," is the main robot. He was built to find and stop specific people. Zeta can change his appearance to look like anyone he has seen, or even create new looks. Even though he doesn't have all his old weapons, his arms have saw blades and lasers for cutting. He also has other tools like welding lasers and a computer connection. Zeta is very strong, can stretch his limbs, and can fix himself.
- Rosalie "Ro" Rowan (Julie Nathanson) is a 15-year-old orphan who joins Zeta. She often acts like a smart older sister to Zeta, who sometimes doesn't understand how to act like a human. She sees Zeta as family and won't leave him because he saved her life. In one episode, it's hinted that Ro has a brother.
- Special Agent James Bennet (Kurtwood Smith) leads the NSA team trying to catch Zeta. He strongly believes that Zeta's change is part of a bad plan, and that Zeta is working with a terrorist group called Brother's Day. He often disobeys orders and misuses his power. Even if he learns the truth about Zeta, it's not clear if he will stop chasing him.
- Agent West (Michael Rosenbaum) is a young, proud, and self-centered agent. His desire to prove himself often annoys his bosses and co-workers. Ro doesn't even see him as a threat anymore. He looks and sounds like Wally West (The Flash), another character voiced by Michael Rosenbaum.
- Agent Lee (Lauren Tom) is a kind agent who starts to see Zeta as good. She notices how he always tries to help people. She later leaves the team. Later episodes suggest she got promoted and sometimes helps Zeta escape from the people she used to work for.
- Agent Rush (Erika Alexander in season 1, Dominique Jennings in season 2) is a strict agent who follows all the rules. She takes Agent Lee's place on the team.
- Bucky Buenaventura (Ulises Cuadra in season 1, Blayn Barbosa in season 2) is a very smart child who sometimes helps Zeta and Ro.
- Dr. Selig (George Segal in season 1, Hal Linden in season 2) is Zeta's creator. He is very hard to find.
- Infiltration Unit 7 is a newer robot model that Zeta fights. IU7 has all of Zeta's skills, is stronger, and has more weapons. It is much more direct and violent in its missions than Zeta.
