Theo Peckham's Hockey Journey
Starting in the NHL
Theo Peckham was chosen by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. This is a special event where professional teams pick young players. He was the 75th player picked overall.
Theo played his first game in the NHL for the Oilers on March 7, 2008. This was his only NHL game that season. He was called up again by the Oilers in February 2009 and played 15 games.
First Points and Goals
Theo scored his first point in the NHL on March 2, 2010. A point can be a goal or an assist. The next season, on November 11, 2010, he scored his very first NHL goal! This was a big moment for him.

The Oilers liked Theo's playing and signed him to new contracts in 2011 and 2012.
Playing During the Lockout
In 2012, there was a time when NHL games were paused, called a "lockout." To keep playing, Theo signed with a team called the San Francisco Bulls in a different league, the ECHL. He played a few games there to stay in shape.
Moving to Other Teams
After his time with the Oilers, Theo joined the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013. He played for their minor league team, the Rockford IceHogs, for the whole season.
In 2014, Theo signed with the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL. He was even chosen to be the team captain! He played 26 games for them before deciding to play hockey in other countries.
He then played for teams in Slovakia and Denmark in 2014 and 2015. These teams were HC ’05 Banská Bystrica and Rødovre Mighty Bulls.
Returning to North America
Theo came back to North America and rejoined the Wichita Thunder in 2015. He played with them for another season. In 2016, he signed with the Rapid City Rush, but he was released from that team shortly after.
Later, Theo played for teams in different Canadian leagues. He joined the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks in the WOAA Senior AA Hockey League. He also played for the Hamilton Steelhawks and the Elora Rocks.
