Thione Seck's Music Career
Thione Seck's album Orientation was very popular. It was even nominated for BBC Radio 3's World Music Album of the Year in 2006. In this album, Thione Seck tried new things with music. He mixed Indian and Arabic musical scales into his songs.
This mix added a unique sound to his calm singing style. It also blended with the strong sabar drum rhythms of his band. Instead of just using guitars and synthesizers, he worked with over 40 musicians. These musicians were from North Africa, Arab countries, and India. They played many different instruments.
