Making Series 9
For this series, some changes were made to the show. In the United States, half-hour episodes began with a special countdown. The numbers of engines like Henry, Edward, and Thomas would appear on their cabs. Then, workmen would get Thomas ready for his day. His driver would blow Thomas's whistle to signal he was ready. Thomas would then start his adventures. At the end of each show, the countdown would happen again. Thomas would return to the station. Workmen would get him ready for the next day. Thomas would then go to sleep.
Sharon Miller started working as the main writer, also known as the script editor, for this series.
