Thomas Allofs (born 17 November 1959) is a German former professional footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was a player who scored goals.
Thomas is the younger brother of another famous footballer, Klaus Allofs. Thomas was known for scoring many goals during his career. He scored nearly 200 goals as a professional player. He mostly played in the top German football league, called the Bundesliga. He also had a short time playing in France.
Allofs also played for the West Germany national team. He was part of the team that went to the 1982 FIFA World Cup.

Playing for Clubs
Thomas Allofs was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. He started his professional football journey when he was 19 years old. His first club was Fortuna Düsseldorf, a big team in his hometown.
Early Career at Fortuna Düsseldorf
In his first year, the 1978–79 season, he scored five goals in 17 games. He played alongside his brother, Klaus Allofs. Together, they scored 29 goals for their team. Fortuna Düsseldorf finished seventh in the league that year.
Thomas also played in five matches during the club's run in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. This was a big European competition. Fortuna Düsseldorf reached the final in 1979. They lost to FC Barcelona in extra time.
Moving to Other Clubs
In 1982, Allofs joined 1. FC Kaiserslautern. He continued to score many goals there, averaging about 15 goals each season. Even though he scored a lot, the team did not win any major trophies.
Later, he moved to 1. FC Köln. Here, he played with his brother Klaus again in the 1986–87 season. In his third season with the team, 1988–89, Thomas was the top goal scorer in the league. His team, 1. FC Köln, finished second that year.
End of His Playing Career
Thomas Allofs finished his playing career in 1992. He returned to his first club, Fortuna Düsseldorf. Before that, he had a short five-month period playing in France for RC Strasbourg during the 1989–90 season. After he stopped playing, he stayed involved with Fortuna Düsseldorf as a director.
Playing for His Country
Thomas Allofs was part of the West Germany team for the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He was on the team but did not play in any matches. West Germany finished as runner-up in that tournament.
He played two games for the national team over three years. His first game was on 16 October 1985. It was a World Cup qualifier against Portugal in Stuttgart. West Germany lost that game 1–0.
