Thomas Allofs (born November 17, 1959) is a German former professional footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was a player who focused on scoring goals.
Thomas is the younger brother of another famous footballer, Klaus Allofs. Thomas was known for scoring many goals during his career. He scored almost 200 goals as a professional player. Most of his career was spent playing in the Bundesliga, which is Germany's top football league. He also had a short time playing in France.
Allofs even represented West Germany at the 1982 FIFA World Cup.

Thomas Allofs was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. He began his professional football journey at 19 years old. His first club was Fortuna Düsseldorf, a big team in his hometown.
Starting at Fortuna Düsseldorf
In his first year, the 1978–79 season, he scored five goals in 17 games. He and his brother, Klaus, scored a combined 29 goals for Fortuna that season. This helped their team finish seventh in the league. Thomas also played in five matches during the club's run in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. They reached the final but lost to FC Barcelona after extra time.
Moving to Other Teams
In 1982, Allofs joined 1. FC Kaiserslautern. He continued to score many goals there, averaging about 15 goals each season. However, his team did not win any trophies during this time.
Later, he moved to 1. FC Köln. He reunited with his brother, Klaus, in the 1986–87 season. In his third season with Köln, the 1988–89 season, Thomas was the top scorer in the league. His team finished second that year.
Finishing His Career
Thomas Allofs ended his playing career in 1992. He returned to his first club, Fortuna Düsseldorf, for his final years. Before that, he had a short five-month period playing in France for RC Strasbourg during the 1989–90 season. After retiring from playing, he stayed involved with Fortuna Düsseldorf as a director.
Playing for His Country
Thomas Allofs was part of the West Germany squad for the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Even though he was with the team, he did not play in any games. West Germany finished as runner-up in that tournament.
He later played two games for West Germany over three years. His first game was on October 16, 1985. It was a qualifier match for the 1986 FIFA World Cup against Portugal in Stuttgart, which West Germany lost 1–0.
