Thomas Laspeyre (born around 1834 – died 1883) was an American who worked as a miner, a politician, and a lawyer. He moved from North Carolina to California in 1853, becoming an American pioneer. He started mining in San Joaquin County, California.
From 1859 to 1862, he was a member of the California State Assembly. During this time, he held views that were common in the Southern states. Later, he practiced law in California and Nevada. In the early 1880s, he became the city attorney for Butte, Montana.

In 1881, Laspeyre moved to Butte, Montana. There, he was elected as the city attorney. A city attorney is a lawyer who works for the city government. They give legal advice and represent the city in legal matters. Thomas Laspeyre was also a member of the Odd Fellows, a friendly society that helps its members and communities.

Thomas Laspeyre passed away in 1883. He died from a lung illness called pneumonia. He never got married and did not have any children.
