Tierp is a town in Sweden. It is the main town of Tierp Municipality in Uppsala County. In 2018, about 6,143 people lived there.

Getting Around Tierp
Tierp is well-connected to other cities. You can travel to Uppsala and Gävle by a special train called Mälartåget. A modern highway, E4, also runs right next to the town. This makes it easy to get in and out of Tierp.

Tierp is a great place for sports! It has several sports clubs where you can play different games.

Tierp is also home to Tierp Arena. This is a special place for car racing. It's known for Drag Racing, which is a type of racing where cars go very fast over a short distance. Tierp Arena hosts two big European Drag Races every year, one in June and another in August.

The Tämnarån River
The Tämnarån is a river that flows just west of Tierp. It's a nice natural area to explore.
Ancient Runestones
Tierp is close to some old stones with special carvings called runestones.
- The Gillberga runestone is located across the Tämnarån river. You can find it near a wooden bridge.
- Two other runestones, number 1144 and number 1145, are a few miles south of Tierp. These stones tell stories from a long time ago.
