Learning and Schools in Tiki Island
Children in Tiki Island attend schools in two different school districts. The eastern part of the village is part of the Texas City Independent School District (TCISD). The western part belongs to the Hitchcock Independent School District (HISD).
A few years ago, the Texas City Independent School District took over the La Marque Independent School District. This means that students from the eastern part of Tiki Island now attend schools in the Texas City district. For high school, students in this area go to La Marque High School. Younger students attend La Marque Primary School, Hayley Elementary, and La Marque Middle School.
After high school, students from all parts of Tiki Island can attend the College of the Mainland. This college serves both the Texas City and Hitchcock school districts.
