Tilton is a small village located in Vermilion County, Illinois, United States. It is part of the larger Danville, Illinois area. In 2020, about 2,660 people lived there.
The village got its name from Charles Tilton. He was a friend of Abraham Lincoln, who later became a famous president. Charles Tilton worked for the railroads. It is said that Abraham Lincoln even had Thanksgiving dinner at Tilton's house in the 1850s!
