Timaukel is a special kind of area in Chile, called a commune. It's found on the Chilean side of the big Tierra del Fuego Island. Timaukel belongs to the Tierra del Fuego Province in the Magallanes Region. The main town and port in Timaukel is Villa Cameron, where the local government manages the commune.

Timaukel covers a huge area of about 10,995.9 square kilometers. That's a lot of land for only a few hundred people! It's a very quiet and almost empty commune.

Many people who live here are of English origin. They often live on farms and work in agriculture, which means growing crops or raising animals. There are also some places that cut wood, called sawmills. In recent years, more and more people are visiting Timaukel for tourism.
