Tingstäde is a small, interesting place on the Swedish island of Gotland. It is a populated area, sometimes called a socken. This area is also an administrative district, which means it has its own local government. Tingstäde is known for its history and a special lake nearby.

Lake Tingstäde and the Bulverket Mystery
Imagine a wooden fortress built right in the middle of a lake! That's what Bulverket was. This amazing fortification was built in the 1100s. People used it for a while, then it was left behind. Today, it rests sunken in Lake Tingstäde, a mystery under the water.
Where is Tingstäde?
Tingstäde is located in the central northern part of Gotland. The name "Tingstäde" refers to a few things. It's the name of the whole area, a larger town, and also the small village around the old medieval Tingstäde Church. This village is sometimes called Tingstäde kyrkby.
Tingstäde Church Today
As of 2019, Tingstäde Church is part of the Stenkyrka parish. It joins other churches in Stenkyrka, Martebo, and Lummelunda.
