Tintin and the Temple of the Sun is an animated film from 1969. Its original title in French is Tintin et le temple du soleil. The film was made by Belvision Studios. It was a joint project between Belgium, France, and Switzerland. This movie is based on two famous Tintin comic books by Hergé. These books are called The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun.
The Story of the Film
In this exciting adventure, Tintin travels all the way to Peru. His mission is to save some archaeologists. They are in danger because of an ancient curse from the Inca people.
The movie tells a shorter version of the original comic book story. For example, the entire story of The Seven Crystal Balls is told in just the first twenty minutes of the film. Some parts of the books were changed, and new scenes were added.
One new character is the Prince of the Sun's daughter. She tries to convince her father to free the prisoners. She also likes Zorrino, a young boy.
Also, in the film, Thomson and Thompson join Tintin and Captain Haddock. They help them try to rescue Professor Calculus. In the original books, Thomson and Thompson only try to find their friends using a special stick (called dowsing). Their arrival in the Inca village in the movie also causes a delay in the prisoners' planned execution.
