Tobot is an exciting animated TV show from South Korea. It's all about amazing cars that can turn into powerful robots! Many of these transforming cars are even designed to look like real Kia vehicles.
You can watch Tobot in both Korean and English on the official Young Toys YouTube channel. The Tobot toys became super popular in South Korea. In 2013, they were even more popular than Lego toys!
An English version of the show was made in Canada and came out in 2018. You can watch this English version right now on Netflix.
There's also a spin-off show called Athlon Tobot, which aired for three seasons. Later, the series was rebooted in 2018 as Tobot V. In English, this reboot is known as Tobot: Galaxy Detectives.

About the Tobot Story
The Original Tobot Adventures
The story of Tobot begins when Dr. Franklin Char is investigating some strange car accidents. Suddenly, he gets kidnapped! This event activates his special creations: the "Tobots."
Tobots are cars that can transform into robots using a special key called a "Tokey." Dr. Char's first two Tobots, Tobot X and Tobot Y, are given to his twin sons, Ryan and Kory. These two brothers then use their Tobots to fight crime and protect their neighborhood from danger.
How Tobot Was Made
The company Young Toys first thought of making an animated TV show and toys back in the early 2000s. Shows like Transformers and Power Rangers were popular with older kids. However, Young Toys wanted to make Tobot for younger children, like those in elementary school and kindergarten.
Instead of buying licenses for characters from other animation studios, Young Toys did something different. They created the whole animated series and its characters from the very beginning. After they designed the show, they then made the toys to go along with it.
Tobot Around the World
Between August and October 2014, Young Toys started selling the rights for Tobot toys and characters to countries in Southeast Asia. By January 2015, the show was also available in some countries in the Middle East.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Tobot, Young Toys put up a huge statue in December 2014. This statue was of a Tobot named Deltatron. It was eight meters tall (about 26 feet) and weighed three tons! The statue was displayed outside Seoul's Lotte Mall near Gimpo International Airport until 2019.
