Early Life and Music Career
Tony Cetinski was born on May 31, 1969, in Pula, a city in Croatia. He grew up in a family of musicians. Tony started singing when he was just 15 years old. He performed with different local music groups.
In 1991, Tony moved to Zagreb to begin his professional music career. He quickly became one of Croatia's top pop stars.
Eurovision Song Contest
In 1994, Tony Cetinski had the honor of representing Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest. He performed the song "Nek' ti bude ljubav sva". This is a big international music competition.
Awards and Popular Songs
Tony has won many awards for his music. In 2006, at the 10th Croatian Radio Festival, he won three major awards in the pop-rock category. These included the Grand Prix, the Listener's award, and the Music Editors award.
He also recorded a popular song called "Lagala nas mala" with the Macedonian singer Toše Proeski. This song was featured on two of Toše Proeski's albums.
In 2009, Tony Cetinski won the prestigious Porin award. This award was for the best male vocal performance for his song "Ako to se zove ljubav". That same year, he held two sold-out concerts at Arena Zagreb. More than 30,000 fans came to see him perform!
