Antonio "Tony" Terry (born March 12, 1964) is an American singer and actor. He is known for his soul and new jack swing music. Tony Terry had many popular R&B songs in the late 1980s and early 1990s. His most famous song is "With You" from 1991. This song reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Billboard Hot 100 lists the most popular songs in the United States.

Tony Terry's Music Career
Tony Terry studied at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. After school, he worked as a backing vocalist. This means he sang backup for other artists. He sang for the pop group Sweet Sensation. He also sang for the hip-hop group The Boogie Boys.
In 1987, Tony Terry signed a deal with Epic Records. This was a big step in his music career. His first song, "She's Fly," came out that same year. It became a top 10 hit on the Billboard R&B singles chart.
First Album Success
Tony Terry's first album was called Forever Yours. It was released in 1988. The album reached the top 40 on Billboard's R&B albums chart. Two songs from the album also became very popular. "Lovey Dovey" reached number four on the R&B charts. The song "Forever Yours" also made it into the R&B top 20. In 1989, Tony also sang with another artist named Flame. Their song "On the Strength" was popular on the R&B and Dance/Club Play charts.
Biggest Hits and New Labels
Tony Terry's second album came out in 1990. It was called Tony Terry. This album featured his biggest hit song, "With You." This song reached the top 20 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It also made it into the top 10 on the R&B chart. Another song from the album, "Everlasting Love," was a number-six R&B hit.
After working with Epic, Tony Terry moved to Virgin Records. His first album with Virgin was Heart of a Man in 1994. The song "When a Man Cries" from this album reached the R&B top 40. The next year, Tony sang backup vocals for Yolanda Adams's song "Gotta Have Love." He also appeared in the music video for that song.
Tony Terry has also contributed to movie soundtracks. He sang on the soundtracks for films like Gladiator, Tap, and King's Ransom. In 1991, he was nominated for two Soul Train Music Awards for his song "With You." These awards were for Single of the Year and Artist of the Year. The music video for "With You" was produced by Anita Baker and directed by Blair Underwood.
In 2015, Tony Terry released a new music project. It was called I Tony 6.
Tony Terry's Acting Roles
Besides singing, Tony Terry is also an actor. He has performed in several stage plays. He was in Sisterella, a play co-produced by Michael Jackson. He also appeared in Mama, I Want to Sing. Tony Terry also acted in David E. Talbert's play His Woman, His Wife, alongside Stephanie Mills.
He has also been part of national tours for plays. He played the Tin Man in The Wiz National Tour. More recently, he toured in the stage production Cheezecake Boyz and the Diva.
