Getting Around Town of Pines
Town of Pines is home to a very special road called Indiana State Road 520. This road is only about 0.2 miles (0.3 kilometers) long. It connects U.S. Highway 12 to U.S. Highway 20. It is known for being the shortest state highway in all of Indiana!
In the past, people could also travel by train. The Central Avenue station of the South Shore Line served Town of Pines. This station was also called Pines station. It operated from 1927 until it was taken down in the 1970s.
