Toxopsiella is a group of spiders, also known as a genus. These spiders belong to a family called Cycloctenidae. They were first described in 1964 by a scientist named Raymond Robert Forster.
All Toxopsiella spiders live in the South Pacific region. Specifically, you can find every known species of Toxopsiella in New Zealand.
About Toxopsiella Spiders
Toxopsiella spiders are a type of araneomorph spider. This means they are part of a very large group of spiders that have fangs that pinch together, like pincers. Most spiders you see are araneomorphs.
Raymond Robert Forster, the scientist who first described them, is an important name in spider studies. He helped us learn a lot about these tiny creatures.
