Symbols of Trabazos: Flag and Coat of Arms

Every town and city has special symbols, like a flag and a coat of arms, to represent it. The flag and coat of arms for Trabazos were created by two designers, Vicente Tocino Letrado and Tomás Rodríguez Peñas. These symbols were officially approved in 2007.

The Municipal Flag

The flag of Trabazos is a rectangle. It has 11 horizontal stripes. The very top stripe is green, and then the rest of the stripes go white, then red, then white, and so on. There are five white stripes and five red stripes.

  • The green and red stripes are each about one-ninth of the flag's height.
  • The white stripes are a bit thinner.
  • The five red stripes on the flag are special because they represent the five villages that make up the municipality of Trabazos.

The Coat of Arms

The coat of arms is like a shield with different pictures on it.

  • One part shows a silver church on a blue background.
  • Another part has a golden fountain on a red background.
  • There's also a silver mill wheel on a red background.
  • You can see a green mountain on a silver background.
  • Finally, there's a blue stripe with a silver mill on a green background.
  • Above the shield, there is a special crown called the Royal Crown.

These symbols tell a story about Trabazos, showing important buildings, natural features, and the history of the area.

Villages of Trabazos Municipality

Trabazos is the main village, but it's also the name for the whole area that includes five different villages. Each village has its own unique character and a number of people living there. The local government, called the town hall, is located in Trabazos and serves all these villages.

Here are the five villages and their populations as of 2020:

  • Trabazos: This is the largest village, with 354 inhabitants.
  • Nuez: This village has 288 inhabitants.
  • San Martín del Pedroso: This is a smaller village with 73 inhabitants.
  • Latedo: This village has 58 inhabitants.
  • Villarino Tras la Sierra: This village has 62 inhabitants.
