Tracie Laymon is a talented American filmmaker. She works as a screenwriter, producer, and director. Tracie grew up in Houston, Texas. She learned about making movies at the University of Texas at Austin.

Tracie started her film journey in Texas. There, she made music videos and short films. These early works were noticed at different film festivals.

She directed Goodnight Burbank. This show was special because it was the first half-hour comedy series made for the internet. It first appeared on Hulu in April 2011. Later that year, Mark Cuban bought it for HDNet. Her short film A Hidden Agender was shown at the Dallas International Film Festival. It won an award for Best Dark Comedy at WorldFest Houston.

Later, Tracie was named one of the "Icons" and "Film Innovators" by the Independent Film Channel. She has worked on many projects. One was a part of the movie Girls!Girls!Girls!.
