Exploring Tradition
Tradition is on the west side of Port St. Lucie. You can find it near the I-95 highway at Exit 118. It's also close to Florida Atlantic University and Indian River College. The Florida Turnpike is nearby too.
Tradition has its own shopping area called The Landing at Tradition. Here you can find many stores and restaurants. Some popular shops include Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Old Navy. Tradition Square also has stores and a Publix Super Market.
Fun Events in Tradition
Every month, on the third Friday, Tradition Square hosts a special street party. It's called WestFest. This event is full of entertainment. Famous bands like The Beach Boys and Eddie Money have performed there. It's a great place for families and friends to have fun.
Research and Health Centers
Tradition is also home to important research and health centers. The Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies moved its main office here in 2006. The Oregon Health & Science University’s Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute also has plans to be here. The Mann Research Center is planning a large campus for research and medical offices. A Martin Memorial Health Systems campus is also planned, along with a Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel. These places help with new discoveries and health care.
Schools in Tradition
Tradition has a special school called Palm Pointe. It's a K-8 (kindergarten to eighth grade) charter school. This school works with Florida Atlantic University and St. Lucie County schools. Students from all over St. Lucie County can attend through a lottery system.
Exciting Sports Venues
First Data Field, also known as Tradition Field, is located nearby in Port St. Lucie. This baseball field is the home for the New York Mets spring training. It's also where the Florida League St. Lucie Mets play during the baseball season.

Tradition is being developed by Core Communities. This company is based in Port St. Lucie. They are part of Woodbridge Holdings Corporation. Core Communities has also built other large communities. They developed the 4,600-acre (18.6 square kilometer) St. Lucie West community. They are also working on the 5,300-acre (21.4 square kilometer) Tradition Hilton Head community in South Carolina.
