Travis Lee Coleman was born on January 4, 1980. He is a former American football player. He played as a defensive back, which is a player who tries to stop the other team from catching passes. Travis played in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Arena Football League (AFL).

He played college football at Hampton University. During his career, he was part of many teams. These included the Chicago Bears, Berlin Thunder, Detroit Lions, and Indianapolis Colts. He also played for the Albany Conquest, Kansas City Brigade, Alabama Vipers, Orlando Predators, and New Orleans VooDoo.

Early Life and College Football

Travis Coleman grew up in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He went to Goldsboro High School there.

After high school, Travis played college football for the Hampton Pirates. He was a strong safety, a key position in the defense. He was recognized as one of the best players in his conference. Over four years, he made 147 tackles, which means he stopped the ball carrier many times. He also had 13 interceptions, catching the ball from the other team. Plus, he broke up 48 passes, preventing catches.

Playing in the NFL

Travis Coleman started his professional career in 2002. He signed with the Chicago Bears on April 29, 2002. He spent some time on their practice squad, which is a group of players who train with the team.

In 2003, he played for the Berlin Thunder in NFL Europe. This league helped players get more experience. After that, he spent time with the Detroit Lions and the Indianapolis Colts in 2003.

Playing in the Arena Football League

After his time in the NFL, Travis moved to the af2 league. He played for the Albany Conquest from 2004 to 2005.
