Travis Stevens was born on February 28, 1986. He is an American judoka, which means he is an expert in the martial art of judo. He has competed for the United States in three different Summer Olympics: in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

Travis competes in the men's weight class for athletes weighing up to 81 kilograms. On August 9, 2016, he made history by becoming only the third American male judoka to win a silver medal at the Olympics. Besides judo, Travis Stevens also holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ). He earned this black belt from famous coaches John Danaher and Renzo Gracie on November 19, 2013.

2008 Summer Olympics

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, Travis competed fiercely. He reached the third round of his competition. There, he faced Ole Bischof, who eventually went on to win the gold medal. After this match, Travis had another chance to win a medal through a special round called the repechage, but he lost to Tiago Camilo.

2012 Summer Olympics

Four years later, at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, Travis again faced Ole Bischof. This time, it was in the semi-finals. The match was very close, and the judges decided the winner, with Ole Bischof moving on. Travis then competed for a bronze medal but was defeated by Antoine Valois-Fortier from Canada.

2016 Summer Olympics

The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was a big moment for Travis. He fought his way to the finals, showing incredible skill. In the final match, he competed against Khasan Khalmurzaev from Russia. Although he didn't win the gold, Travis earned a silver medal, which was a huge achievement for him and for American judo. On August 9, 2016, he was ranked 12th in the world for his weight class by the International Judo Federation.

Travis's Judo Center

Travis Stevens opened his own judo gym called FUJI Gym. It is located in Wakefield, Massachusetts. He started this gym on January 12, 2013. This is where he now teaches judo to others, sharing his knowledge and passion for the sport.
