Treaty is a small place in Indiana, a state in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does.
Treaty is located in Liberty Township, which is part of Wabash County.
History of Treaty
Treaty was started in the middle of the 1870s. It got its name from a nearby stream called Treaty Creek.
A post office was opened in Treaty in 1874. This was an important place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, but it closed down in 1935.
Where is Treaty?
Treaty is located along Indiana State Road 15. This road connects two other towns: Wabash and La Fontaine. So, if you're driving on State Road 15 between those two towns, you'll pass through Treaty.
