Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Trend Drinks was a company that made soft drinks in a town called Gladstone. This town is located in the Southern Flinders Ranges area of South Australia. They made drinks from 1876 until 2015.

Trend Drinks was the last soft drink company in South Australia that was owned by local people. Many years ago, South Australia had several local drink makers. However, big international brands became more popular. This led to many local companies closing down over time.

History

The company started in the 1870s in Gladstone, South Australia. The business was a partnership. It was formed by Amore Syrups and Damian Casey. In 2015, the Casey family sold the business. It was bought by Beechworth Heritage Drinks. The family then moved to Corowa, New South Wales. Even today, some Trend Drinks, like the F.C. Grubb brand, are still made in New South Wales.

Flavours

Trend Drinks made special drinks that were not common. They also made popular soft drinks and cordials. Some of their unique flavours included Ginger Beer, Sarsaparilla, Portello, and Cream Soda. They also created drinks made with honey. One interesting drink was a fizzy chocolate-flavoured drink.
