Trend Drinks facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Trend Drinks was a company that made yummy soft drinks. They were located in a town called Gladstone, which is in the southern part of the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. They made drinks for a very long time, from 1876 all the way until 2015!

This company was special because it was the very last local soft drink maker in its region of South Australia. A long time ago, many towns had their own small drink factories. But as big international brands grew, many of these local companies closed down.

The Story of Trend Drinks

Trend Drinks started way back in the 1870s. That's over 140 years ago! It began in Gladstone, South Australia. The business was first a team-up between two groups: Amore Syrups and the Casey family. In 2015, the Casey family decided to sell the company. They sold it to another company called Beechworth Heritage Drinks. The Casey family then moved to a new town called Corowa, New South Wales. Even though the original company changed hands, some of the drinks are still made today! You can find them under the F.C. Grubb brand, and they are now made in New South Wales.

What Flavours Did They Make?

Trend Drinks made many different kinds of drinks. They had popular soft drinks and cordials that people loved. They also made some special, unique flavours that you might not find everywhere! Some of their cool flavours included:

  • Ginger Beer
  • Sarsaparilla
  • Portello (a sweet, fruity drink)
  • Cream Soda

They even made drinks with honey and a fizzy chocolate-flavoured drink! Imagine a bubbly chocolate soda!
