History
Early Days and Challenges
The club began in 1909 as Football Club Treviso. It never played in Italy's top football league. Instead, it competed in lower national divisions. These included Serie B and Serie D. Their best result was sixth place in Serie B in the 1950–51 season. This was under coach Nereo Rocco. In 1993, the club had money problems and had to close down.
Rising to Serie A
In the summer of 1993, a new club was formed. It was called F.B.C. Treviso 1993. This new team joined Serie D. From 1994 to 1997, the club achieved three promotions in a row. This amazing run happened under coach Giuseppe Pillon. Treviso reached Serie B, which was over 40 years since their last time there.
In 2001, Treviso was moved down to Serie C1. But they returned to Serie B in 2003. Pillon came back to coach Treviso in 2005. The team finished fifth and earned a spot in the promotion playoffs. However, they lost to Perugia.
Then, in August 2005, something unexpected happened. Both Genoa and Torino were moved out of Serie A. This was due to rule breaking and money issues. Because of this, Treviso and Ascoli were chosen to take their places in Serie A.
Playing in Serie A
In the 2005–06 season, Treviso played in Italy's top league. This was their first and only time in Serie A. The team was first coached by Ezio Rossi. Later, Alberto Cavasin took over.
At first, Treviso could not play home games at their own stadium. The Stadio Omobono Tenni was not big enough for Serie A matches. So, they had to play in Padua at the Stadio Euganeo. But a special rule was passed. This allowed Treviso to play at their home ground.
Treviso's time in Serie A was short. They were near the bottom for most of the season. On April 9, 2006, they lost 3-1 to Messina. This meant they were officially moved down to Serie B. There was a big football scandal that year. It seemed Treviso might stay in Serie A because other teams were punished. But on July 25, 2006, some penalties were reduced. S.S. Lazio and ACF Fiorentina stayed in Serie A. So, Treviso was moved down to Serie B.
Back in Serie B, Treviso started to have money problems. The club went bankrupt in the summer of 2009. This happened after they were moved down from Serie B that same year.
Rebuilding the Club
In 2009, a new club was started. It was called A.S.D. Treviso 2009. This new team joined Eccellenza Veneto. At that time, this was the sixth level of Italian football.
In the 2010–11 season, Treviso moved up from Serie D to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. The club then changed its name to Football Club Treviso. The next year, they were promoted again to Lega Pro Prima Divisione. In the 2012–13 season, the club was moved down. Then, it was removed from the league entirely.
The club was started again in the summer of 2013. It was named A.C.D. Treviso. They began playing in Promozione. After the 2013–14 season, the club earned another promotion. They won the playoffs and moved up to Eccellenza.
In 2021, the club changed its name to Treviso F.B.C. 1993. They were promoted to Eccellenza. They tried to get into Serie D but lost a playoff game. This was against Montecchio Maggiore. However, in the 2022–23 season, they won their group in Eccellenza Veneto. This meant they returned to the fourth level of Italian football. It had been 10 years since they were in a national league. They had a tough fight for promotion. They won the final game 2-0 against Giorgione. This victory happened at their home stadium, Stadio Omobono Tenni.
